NBI video

A video on the work that is been done by the Souss Massa National Park authorities with the support of BirdLife.

Björn Welander and Neil Owen coproduced the film and both together with Danielle Calenti present and narrate the story. There's a website where they tell quite a lot on NBI and on their project and also have more links to some video fragments.

NBI on TV

Very recently, Northern Bald Ibis was the main character on a short documentary on Moroccan TV. It's in arabic, but if you cannot understand, images are worth to see.

Roost

This video shows the amazing place where most of the whole world population of NBI roost during a part of the year. This area is not close to nesting places but is well placed besides the best feeding areas in SoussMassa National Park.

This roosting area, essential to the population, is protected thanks to the conservation efforts made in the park, to the local wardens and to the sustainable development projects implemented there. 

Seeing Northern Bald Ibis in the wild

If you wish to observe NBI in its natural habitat, please help us and do not try to approach the colonies. These are well surveyed by the Bald Ibis wardens who are in charge of preventing disturbance. Be aware that by approaching the colony you are also attracting more attention of local people which can have a much longer term impact beyond your visit.

Instead, you can easily spot the bald Ibis around Tamri river mouth and fields immediately within 1 km of there. You can see how easily some birdwatchers have enjoyed the experience of watching this critically endangered species in the wild in the following videos.
