Roost

This video shows the amazing place where most of the whole world population of NBI roost during a part of the year. This area is not close to nesting places but is well placed besides the best feeding areas in SoussMassa National Park.

This roosting area, essential to the population, is protected thanks to the conservation efforts made in the park, to the local wardens and to the sustainable development projects implemented there

The ibis is a species listed as critically endangered by IUCN.
Northern Bald Ibis project of SEO/BirdLife maintains a local wardens patrol in the last two areas where it survives: the Souss-Massa National Park and Tamri region, Morocco. These guards monitor breeding colonies and feeding sites, and collect vital data to act on the conservation of the species.
